Odessa, Jazz Festival 1998: two young musicians from Odessa appear together for the first time and are thrilled and inspired by their perfect musical rapport. However, nine years will pass before their next joint appearance.
Vadim Neselovskyi emigrates with his family to Germany in 1995 and, after studying at the Berklee College of Music, remains in the USA. The pianist and composer lives in New York and, between 2004 and 2006, plays at almost every important Jazz Club and festival in the USA, Europe and Japan as part of Gary Burton’s „Generations“. In 2007 he is selected as pianist for the world famous Thelonious Monk Institute and moves to New Orleans for the following two years.
Already during his studies, Andreij Prosorov often plays on the cruise ship, „Maxim Gorki“ and, on one of his trips, meets the pianist Rudi Wilfer who brings him to Vienna in 2001. After studying with Wolfgang Puschnig and at the Jazzkonservatorium der Stadt Wien with William Quada, he tours through Europe since 2005 primarily with „Fatima Spar & the Freedom Fries“ and participates in projects on the Vienna Jazz scene with, amongst others, Joe Zawinul, Wolfgang Puschnig and John Sass.
Wien, Birdland, 2007: The contact between Andreij Prosorov and Vadim Neselovskyi is maintained over the years. At Andreij’s invitation, Vadim comes to Vienna where, after a short period of rehearsal, they play a fantastic concert in Birdland and record the album in a studio.
