Above all, you shouldn’t be afraid of crossing musical borders. The Duo Schenis have created a wonderful collage of Electro Pop, Jazz and contemporary songwriting on their production „a little closer”. The slinky voice and sound design slip into the listener’s ear and then down into their legs – making your body move.
Singer Nika Zach about the debut album by Schenis:
“Yes! I want to write beautiful and sad, touching – as well as dark and melancholic songs.  Michl’s diverse “box of tools” impressed me from the start, and that’s where we started. Lots of colourful pianos that all sound different, radiant trumpets and other types of horns, fantastic sounds of plastic, gold and silver; a paradise of variety – I had no idea that there could be so much.” (Nika Zach)
Nika Zach has created a name for herself not only as a singer and composer in the environment of the Jazzwerkstatt Wien, but also as a curator of the Jazzwerkstatt (2009). Michl Hornek is, above all, a well-known musician and producer in the local music scene.
